Morbihan, on the south coast of Brittany offers all the
attractions of the ocean with a shoereline bathing in a climate special to this
part of Brittany : mild all year round and naturally warm and sunny from
May to October .Plants flourish here including species rarely encountered at
this latitude : mimosa, camellias, rhododendrons, fig trees, palm trees
and pines. Being neither too hot nor too cold but stimulating , this climate
allows for outdoor activities to be enjoyed throughout the year.
Inland there are rivers teeming with fish, large and small lakes, valleys,
meadows and forests to fish, walk, cycle , horse ride or explore the
countryside with a horse-drawn carriage.You will discover breathtaking views,
megaliths , chapels, castles and manor houses, socialize with the locals and
learn about their traditions.
Many long sandy beaches stretch along the coastline. From there, you will
cruise to the islands, make endless amazing discoveries along the river banks
of the rias and around the Morbihan Gulf, not to mention the wide choice of
water sports, the delights of sea fishing and rock-pool fishing.
