Self-catering accommodations

A “gite rural” is a self-catering accommodation, renovated in keeping with the local architecture. Situated by the sea or inland , you will enjoy the lovely and carefree countryside, the space for the children, the cosy and welcoming interior to relax in.

It can be rented for a week or a weekend throughout the year. On arrival, you will be welcomed by your hosts that will provide you with helpful tips to stroll the region.

Seasonal tariffs (example of weekly rent and short breaks)

Short breaks rentals :
Shorts stays (from 1 to 4 nights) are available out of French school holiday periods.
    A booking fee of 13 € for stays of 3 nights + will be charged by Gites de France Booking Office.
    This fee is reduced to 9 € for short breaks of 1 or 2 nights.

Charmance Chambres d'Hôtes/ B&B’s It is the French style B&B .You will be welcomed like friends by your hosts in beautiful properties like manor houses, restored stylish cottages… for one or several nights. Rooms have been furnished with care in country style or contemporary design . You will have the opportunity to enjoy a delightful break thanks to the friendliness and “art de vivre” of your hosts. You’ll particularly appreciate the gorgeous breakfasts, the traditional home made cooking based on local products served at dinner time in some accommodations (“table d’hôte” facility*). Chambres d'Hôtes de charme/ B&B of charm All guesthouses of charm are rated 3 or 4 ears of corn sitting in a privileged environment, surrounded by flowery gardens or landscaped grounds . They include private parking facility. Each room has an ensuite (shower room or bathroom/wc) and are particularly comfortable and cosy. Some hosts offer on site leisure facilities (tennis, billiard, sauna, horseriding…) . When a swimming pool is available to guests, the corresponding pictogram is indicated on the description. It is genrally free but can be subject to a specific season and timetable. In any case, the use of the swimming pool is under the sole responsibility of the guests (It is the guests’ responsibility to keep a constant eye on the swimming pool when people are likely to get near it, specially young children).

Campsites and Prévert natural camping areas.

 Ever dreamed of sleeping in the open , looking for space, countryside, peace and quiet for a family holiday ?
With a limited number of pitches in an unspoilt environment, our campsites and natural camping areas will allow you to experience the idyllic rural contentment , more often nearby a farm.
Natural camping areas are limited to 25 pitches. Traditional campsites offer pitches for your tent or caravan or for more comfort, chalets and mobile holiday homes .
Chalets complex : in family or with friends, you will have a large choice of activities(angling, mountain biking, archery…), always in a preserved rural setting.

Stop-over gites and flexible stays : Whilst enjoying an invigorating holiday break, you will receive a warm welcome for a week end, a longer stop over or just for a night .
Stop over gites are ideal for ramblers whereas stay on accommodations are suitable for groups, friends and family parties.

Fishing holyday

Gites de France registered label « Gîte de Pêche » is given to accommodations that can meet 3 conditions : angling facilities nearby the gite, necessary equipment provided, capable management and availability of the owner . These 3 conditions are detailed herafter.

Type of angling available : Fishing gite by rivers rated 2nd category : where anglers can fish in lakes and rivers rated 2nd category. These gites are identified as GP2. Fishing gite by rivers rated 1st category : where anglers can fish in lakes and rivers rated 1st category (well stocked with salmons and similar fish). These gites are identified as GP1. According to the standard and difficulties of the angling site, there are 2 levels for GP1 gites : GP1 F ranked as “easy”, GP1 S ranked as “sporty”.

Distance between the gite and the angling site : cannot exceed 2 kms for GP2 gites. 10 kms (driving time of maximum 15 mns) or 2 hours to mountain lakes for GP1 F and GP1 S gites.

Amenities : All fishing gites must offer the following amenities : ground floor storage room with easy access to store fishing equipment : low and high boots, rods, a fish tank to keep bait fish -if this type of angling is practised-, a heating system: electric, oil or gas fired, a map of the area outlining the angling sites of the region. Furthermore, it is advised to have a boat available for 2nd category lakes, - to decorate the gite in keeping with its use- to supply some fishing books and magazines for guests.

Qualification and services provided by the owner : the owner (or the keyholder that will welcome guests and answer their requests) must be a qualified angler in the type of angling available nearby the gite. He must hold all necessary informations about local and regional angling regulations. He must be qualified to answer all relevant requests including price of the fishing permit and facilitate the obtaining of such documents. He must provide trustworthy recommendations on local regulation, bait fish used, fishing shop adress, angling sites. Hosts offering dinner facilities must accept to cook the fish catched if required by their guests, possibly using local recipes (at no extra cost).
